Path one, no DMV visit needed
Derelict Motor Vehicle Certificate: HSMV Form 82137
Florida Statute 319.30 allows a licensed salvage dealer to accept a Derelict Motor Vehicle Certificate instead of a standard title for certain older, low-value vehicles, generally cars that are ten or more years old and are being sold for scrap or salvage value.
The process is straightforward: the seller completes and signs HSMV form 82137, the licensed dealer accepts it, and the vehicle is legally transferred. You do not need to visit the Tax Collector or the DMV. The form itself travels with the car.

If your car does not qualify for the Derelict Certificate, or if you prefer to sell with a clean title in hand, Florida makes it easy to get a duplicate. Fill out HSMV form 82101, which you can download from the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website.
Bring the completed form, your photo ID, and the vehicle's VIN to any Miami-Dade County Tax Collector office. The fee is approximately $75. Miami-Dade Tax Collector offices frequently process duplicate titles the same day, meaning you could have a title in hand within a couple of hours.
